scitype__y()[source]

Scitype of the target data y supported by the object.

  • String name: "scitype:y"

  • Public scitype tag

  • Values: string, name of the supported scitype

  • Example: "Series"

  • Example 2: "points" (detection metrics)

This tag applies to parameter estimators and detection metrics (not forecasting metrics).

For parameter estimators, it specifies which scitype of y is supported natively, typically "Series".

For metrics, it specifies the scientific type of the labels y that the metric consumes. Detection metrics use values such as "points" (event locations) or "segments" (interval labels). Other metrics may use the same tag for the scitype of the target series.
