split_series_uses()[source]

Whether split_series dispatches to integer- or label-based location splitting.

  • String name: "split_series_uses"

  • Developer property tag

  • Values: str, subset of "iloc", "loc", "custom"

  • Example: "iloc"

  • Default: "iloc"

This tag applies to time series splitters ("splitter" type) only.

The tag controls internal dispatch in the high-level split_series method:

  • "iloc": split_series dispatches to positional index splitting (_split).

  • "loc": split_series dispatches to label-based index splitting (_split_loc).

  • "custom": split_series uses a custom internal splitting routine.

Developer tag, not user-facing, used to control internal dispatch.
